SLEEP-OVER CROP !!

BUTTERFLY MINI-ALBUM

Happy Monday my blog followers!

I had a really nice weekend with great weather here in Vegas.  On Saturday I attended a Halloween crop at Scrappin' Time and the above butterfly mini-album was the project I worked on.

(Page 1)
The designer paper used throughout this album is the Mariposa stack by DCWV.  I've had this stack for over two years so it was time to use it.  The front butterfly is attached with a butterfly brad and its movable.

Each page was distressed with Tim Holtz vintage photo ink and then Mod Podge was applied.  Although its hard to see, the album has a very glossy look.  I love butterflies so this album was a pleasure to make.

Thank you for stopping by and have a happy day!

School Memoirs Album

Happy Nevada Day and welcome to my blog!

Using a MambiKIT by Me and My Big Ideas I decorated six 9" x 12" kraft mailing envelopes to make this album.  This is a great way to safe keep our children's school memoirs, report cards, school pictures, art work, etc. Each envelope has a large pocket to store all these treasures.

The six envelopes are held together with large metal rings and decorated with red and yellow ribbons.  The flaps of the envelopes were cut down to tabs and numbered to represent the child's grades 1st through 6th which were cut from the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge.  The kit contained numerous stickers which helped decorate each envelope.

Thank you for visiting and enjoy a very blessed weekend.

ROUGH & READY

Hello my blog friends and blessings to you!

A couple of weeks ago my friend Lisa invited us to her son's birthday party which included horseback riding.  My three grandaughters had so much fun they're still talking about this party.  On 10-17-11, I posted my first layout of this event.
My little cowgirls were "rough and ready" for this day.  I'm appreciative that Lisa made this experience possible for them.  I wish I had taken more photos because creating these western layouts was so much fun for me.  Hope you enjoy the pictures.

Supplies used:

Old West cartridge
Accucut images
Recollections stickers
Reminisce designer paper

Thanks for visiting.  You all come back again!

BLISS

Welcome and good Monday morning!

This weekend was fantastic at the Faith Community Lutheran Scrapbooking Crop.  This was my first time attending and I was totally impressed.  This is one of the page layouts I finished while there.

With the help of my friend Lisa this layout has images cut from Gypsy Wanderings and Home Decor cartridges.  I entered this layout in the Queen of the Crop contest and although it was not selected I enjoyed participating.

Other supplies used:

Martha Stewart small and large Monarch butterfly punches
Prima swirl ribbon flowers
Diamond Stickles
brown packing paper
Scallop circle punch by Stampin' Up
Flower pins by Teri Schoeni (Heart to Home)

The next crop is scheduled for February 24--25, 2012.  Contact Carol Shanks @ cannshanks@aol.com for more information.

Thanks for visiting.

Welcome to my blog!

It's Friday and another week has gone by so quickly.  I started this mini album last week and was able to finally finish it.  I used designer paper from Graphic 45's Christmas Emporium.  There are beautiful images on this paper collection.  It also contains tons of tags which were used on each page.  Hope you enjoy viewing this project.

List of supplies:

Graphic 45 DSP
Diamond Stickles
White flocking
Tim Holtz's On the Edge Brackets
Black card stock
chipboard
3 metal rings
miscellaneous red ribbons

Getting ready for Christmas is so much fun.  Have a safe and blessed weekend.

Thoughts of Encouragement

Our children need to hear the echo of our blessings throughout their lives.  Look them in the eyes and say, "You are blessed with creativity, great abilities, a great family, good friends, good health, an obedient heart,  and a positive outlook on life. If you want them to succeed, repeat words like these often to your children.

PRECIOUS!

Hello my blog friends and welcome!

All my grandchildren are precious to me, but this layout highlights my 7-year old granddaughter Natalia. The butterfly on her shirt just seemed to go with this layout.

"Precious" was cut from the Once Upon a Princess cartridge.

Other supplies used:

My Minds Eye Blush Princess DSP
Elegant Flourishes die by Tim Holtz
Sewing Room die by Tim Holtz
Seamless Experience cling stamp set by Tim Holtz
Colorbox ornamental pin
pink thread
cream color ribbon flowers
pearl ribbon

I hope "every day is a special occasion" for you to craft.  Enjoy your day and I invite you to come back and visit again.

Thoughts of Encouragement

A blessing is not a blessing until it is spoken.  What we say to our children about their character and their future has amazing power.  We need to remember that every word we say to them builds or tears down the blessings we are constructing in them.

Cowgirl Up!

 Howdy blog friends!

Wow! where did the weekend go?  I spent Saturday at the Pink Ribbon Scrappin' Time crop.  Because I was enjoying myself so much, I guess time just flew by.  This 2-page layout was one of my finished projects.

My granddaughters enjoyed a horseback ride at a friend's birthday party last week.  I must admit I was too scared to ride myself, but they were brave cowgirls and loved the ride.

I could not crop all the pictures, so I created a pocket in which to save the additional  photos.

Supplies used:

Moxie western designer paper
All embellishments were cut with the Old West cartridge
Mounting tape
Tim Holtz distress ink/vintage photo

I did buy some additional western DSP, so expect another layout of this horseback riding experience.

Thanks for visiting my blog partners--giddyup and come back soon.

God has already healed offenses between ourselves and others but we're still carrying hurt.  The healing inside us remains unfinished.  When you are turning conflicts and problems over to God for healing, make sure that you also receive His forgiveness and healing.

A Child's Year Christmas

Happy Friday!

Another of my favorite paper stacks is Graphic 45's the Christmas Emporium collection.  Using two of the sheets from this collection I made this simple but lovely Christmas layout.  One sheet has Christmas songs and the other has holly. The colors are not the traditional Christmas colors, but they match well with the vintage designer paper.

The image of the children carrying the Chritmas tree was cut from A Child's Year cartridge using Chocolate Chip and Vanilla cardstock by Stampin' Up.

The trees, the snowflakes and the title Christmas were cut from the Christmas cartridge.  Stickles were added to all these images.

Thank you for visiting. I wish you a safe and blessed weekend.

An ABC Primer Mini Album

Hello and welcome to my blog.

I have to say I'm in love with Graphic 45's An ABC Primer designer paper.  This 6 x 6 tabbed mini album by Three Bugs in a Rug is decorated with ABC Primer DSP.  Hope you like it.

I can tell you I plan to purchase more of this adorable paper.  It was a pleasure making this mini album.  Hopefully, I can create another project with this beautiful vintage paper.

Have a great day and be sure to come back.
