"HAPPY" - PART II

Good morning everyone!

Today I want to share a layout made by my BFF Linda who is visiting me from California.  We have been friends for over 42 years.  She has never scrapbooked before, this is her first time.  I supplied the paper and embellishments, but she sat down and used her creativity.

She didn't know what Stickles was, but she sure enjoyed using it on her page.

I can truly say that our friendship has grown.  I love my friend and we're both "Happy" that she accepted my invitation to visit me.

Supplies used:

DCWV La Bella Rouge paper stack
Elegant Cakes cartridge
Diamond Stickles
Tim Holtz adage tickets
Martha Stewart monarch butterfly punch
In bloom stones by Bead Designs
Recollections flowers
white doily

Have a blessed day,

Erlinda

Thoughts of Encouragement

Listening is a lost art today.  Many of us are so concerned about what we think or believe that we just don't listen closely to others--or even to God.

Thoughts of Encouragement

Being grateful is a key to staying happy.  That's why King David said, I will bless the Lord at all times: "His praise shall continually be in my mouth" (Psalm 34:1).  Notice how often he will praise the Lord?  Continually!  David knew a secret.  You can't praise and complain at the same time.

MOTHER

Happy Memorial Day Weekend!

This week has gone by so quickly, in fact the whole month of May has been very busy.  First my birthday, my granddaughter's First Communion, then Mother's Day and now Memorial Day..

I started this layout at the Faith Crop a few weeks ago.  "Mother" was cut from the Phrases cartridge.

The apron, silverware setting and salt and pepper shakers were cut with the From My Kitchen cartridge.

Other supplies:

Martha Stewart Embroidery edge punch
EK Success flower punch
Stampin' Up scallop edge punch
Red doily
Diamond Stickles

Have a blessed weekend.

Thoughts of Enouragement

God is a healer.  It doesn't matter what is broken in your life today, God's nature is to bring you complete healing.  Do you need healing in your body?  Your mind?  Heart?  Finances?  Relationships?  Let God be your healer.

ADORE

Happy Wednesday to everyone!

I "Adore" my one and only daughter, Terry.  There was a time I could not say this, but I can now laugh at all the things she put me through her teen years.  She has bloomed into a beautiful daughter, mother and wife.

This picture was taken recently and I love the way my layout turned out.  I hope you liked it too.

Supplies used:

Wall Decor cartridge
Martha Stewart monarch butterfly punches
Sizzix Valentine Flourishes die
Diamond Stickles
Beige crochet flower

Thank you for taking time to stop by.

Thoughts of Encouragement

Make your mind up to do the best to enjoy every single day.  We all make mistakes; things may not always go your way.  Make the decision that you are going to live your life happy.  Don't allow what does or doesn't happen to you steal your joy and keep you from God's abundant life.

SEW NICE!

Welcome and Happy Monday!

I went to a beautiful wedding in California this past weekend so I didn't have much time for crafting.  I worked on this metal art layout at the Faith Crop the week before and last night I put the finishing touches.

On April 4th, I posted a similar layout titled, "love."
On this current layout I used several Tim Holtz bigz dies for the chipboard images.  The embellishments include flowers by Recollections and Prima, buttons, ruler ribbon, needle and thread, and a small pair of scissors.

The picture is of me and my two granddaughters who made their First Communion and I thought that was "Sew Nice."

Thanks for visiting.

SWEET MEMORIES

"Sweet" greetings to everyone!

At the Faith Crop last week, I made this Make and Take project that Sherrill Graff taught.  She gave each participant one 12 x 12, one 8 1/2 x 11, and four 6 x 6 page protectors and asked us to decorate the page protectors.

I used Stampin' Up's Cheerful Treat designer paper, Recollections embellishments, Stampin' Up scallop corner punch, and the New Arrival and Wall Decor cartridges.

Sherrill showed us how to mount and adhere with sticky tape the 8 1/2 x 11 sheet protector (SH) on the 12 x 12 SH; then the four 6 x 6 SH in the center of the 8 1/2 x 11 SH.  This technique allows you to get more pictures onto your layouts.  I was able to get 11 pictures on my l/o and still had room on the back to place another 4 pictures.

I want to thank Sherrill for sharing this technique and for the free products she generously gave us.  You can visit Sherrill on her blog @ http://latenightstamper1.blogspot.com/

Have a blessed weekend everyone!

Jewelry Holders

Happy day to everyone!!

This past weekend is still fresh in my mind and remembering all the fun and inspiration I experienced at the Faith Crop.

The above project is a beautiful framed jewelry holder made by my very talented friend Rebecca.

Rebecca has two twin daughters, Jennifer and Julia, who also worked on their own jewelry holders.  I love the shabby chic look that Jennifer used, especially the large flower.

Julia decorated hers with Alice in Wonderland designer paper.

Rebecca shared with me that they bought the 18" x 18" wood frame kits at the Scrapbook Expo in Sandy, Utah.

The unique knobs are from Hobby Lobby.

I would love to make one of these jewelry holders myself, but of course I don't have the kit.  I was thinking maybe I could use a canvas frame.  I will let you know if its works.

I want to thank Rebecca, Julia and Jennifer for sharing their talents.

It's A Boy! Mini Album

Happy Monday!

This weekend I attended the Faith Crop and finished making this mini flip album for a little baby boy.

This is the full open view of the album, then on each side and middle there are more pages to the album.  As you can see there is plenty of space for photos.

This is the left view when opened.  I used bakers twine to close the flaps.

When you open the middle you have the little rocking horse.  The yellow circle has room to document the name, date, weight and length of the baby.

On the right side there is space for baby's first bath, a choo choo train and tiny treasures.

There are so many flaps to this mini it is possible to add lots of journaling and photos.

This mini album is a gift for a dear friend that is expecting a baby boy.  I hope she likes it.

This is the back view.  A pretty blue striped ribbon is glued at the back and then wrapped around to the front to tie it together.

Thanks for visiting my blog and please come back again.

When you center your life around yourself, not only do you miss out on God's best, but you rob other people of the joy and blessings that God wants to give them through you.

Thoughts of Encouragement

We should get up each morning with an attitude that says:  I'm going to make somebody else happy today.  I'm going to help meet somebody else's need.  Don't go through life as a taker; become a giver.

Mother's Day cards

Happy Friday!

These are a couple of last minute Mother's Day cards I made with my new toy ... the Sizzix Scallop Circle 3-D Pop-Up die.

On this card I used Prima's 6x6 Madeline collection paper stack; Beautiful Butterflies die, photo corner punch, Elegant Lines embossing folder, and modern label punch all by Stampin' Up (SU); and, Martha Stewart's 3-butterflies punch.

Most of the card was distressed with Tim Holtz' walnut stain ink.

Again on this card the Beautiful Butterflies die was used in addition to a small white doily and lots of rhinestones.

For the inside of the card, can you see the butterfly border created with Martha Stewart's punch.  On the pop-up Scallop Circle I added holes with the Cropadile.  The verse "Wonderful Mother" is from the Well Scripted stamp set by SU.

If you're blessed with children I wish you a very
Happy Mother's Day!!!

Day At The Park

Good morning friends!

A couple of months ago my grandson started playing baseball and the whole family went to the park to watch his first game.

I used the Fancy Frames cartridge on this page.  The frame is so pretty.

For the title I used the Hello Kitty Font cartridge.  On the two-page layout the Tapestry paper and 3-D embellishments by C.R. Gibson were used.

I'm looking forward to more days at the park.

Thanks for taking time to visit.

What a wonderful weekend I had, starting with Friday I went to a crop at Scrappin' Time and worked on this layout of my daughter and her family.

I chose the title "Smile" because definitely my granddaughters and their dad  put on a happy smile.

I hope you enjoyed this layout and come back to view a few more I completed this weekend.

Supplies used:

Lovely Florals cartridge
Summer in Paris cartridge
Tapestry by C.R. Gibson
Martha Stewart flower stickers
K and Company border stickers

Thanks for visiting, Erlinda

Thoughts of Encouragement

Father, please help me to get my eyes off myself and to see the many needs in people all around me.  May I be a means of help, comfort, and encouragement to someone else today.

Our Family

Welcome!

My daughter and her famly recently took pictures and I loved the way they came 0ut.  I used a kit I bought from Teri @ Heart to Home to create my layout.  You can visit Teri at www.hearttohomescrapbook.etsy.com

The kit did not include  the title "Our Family" and the black swirls.  They were cut from Lovely Floral Cricul lite cartridge.  The small floral was made with Spellbinders Spiral Blossom die and the bottom border was cut with a Martha Stewart punch.

These flowers were part of the kit.  Are they not beautiful?  I distressed them with Tim Holtz' walnut stain ink and added Diamond Stickles and acrylic stones by Bead Designer.

Hope you enjoyed this layout.  Please come back and visit again.
