Valentine Stair Step Card Tutorial

As Valentine's Day is fast approaching I thought I would make a few valentine cards for family and friends.  This is the stair step card which is easy to make and when embellished looks adorable.

To make the base of the card cut a white piece of
cardstock (CS) at 10-1/2" x 5-1/2".  Score left to right
at 1-1/4", 2-1/2",4-1/4", 6" and 8-1/4".

Accordion fold starting from left to right with the hill position first.

Punch a pretty border with any punch from color cardstock measuring 1-1/4" x 5-1/2".  Adhere this piece to the front of the card.  Cut three pieces of designer paper at
1-1/4" x 5-1/2", 1-3/4" x 5-1/2" and 2-1/4" x 5-1/2".  Adhere each piece to the white CS starting with the smallest
piece first.

Now you're ready to embellish your card.  This first card I decorated with cupcakes.

What is Valentine's Day without hearts.

This last one will tell my Valentine that she (my daughter)holds the key to my heart.

Hope that you will take some time to make a valentine for that special someone.

You and Me

This weekend I started getting in the mood for Valentine's Day and I made this layout.  I used the Sweethearts cartridge to cut the scallop heart and embellished it with lots of hearts.

Last year Teresa Collins posted a free download of valentine images which included the love tickets.

For the title I used a Recollections "You and Me" dimensional sticker.

Enjoy your week and come back soon.

Onsie Favor Boxes

Good Friday morning!

Today is the baby shower for my friend and I made these baby shower favor boxes.

The Tags, Bags, Boxes and More 2 cartridge is the latest of my Cricut toys.  This cute onsie box is one of the images from this cartridge.  The cut boxes are filled with candy for the baby shower guests.

I added a little duckie which was cut from the New Arrival cartridge.  The boxes were easy to assemble and I was happy with the end result.

Have a blessed and safe weekend.

Welcome Baby!

Welcome blog friends!!

I have a baby shower to go to next week and I thought the expectant mother might like a scrapbook to document her first baby's life.

I went to Michael's and purchased this "frame a name" baby boy scrapbook kit by K and Company.  It comes with a beautiful album with 10 designer sheets plus over 200 embellishments.

I plan to create a few pages for her with my own supplies, so that she can use what comes in the kit herself.  I'm hoping she likes my gift.

Aunts Are Special

Good Wednesday morning friends!

This past Christmas I received some very beautiful and special cards.  I decided to use one of these cards on this page layout.  I bought the designer sheets at Joann's.  I love the images of Precious Moments.

The image on the left is the Christmas card I received from my friend Maria Farmer.  She and another co-worker of my daughter-in-law have adopted me as their "aunt" and it feels special to me.

The Christmas images on this paper are adorable.  Now I will treasure Maria's card for a long time.

I'll have to find some pictures of myself to photo mat
  from the past holidays.

Supplies used:

Precious Moments paper by Colorbok
Hello Kitty Font cartridge
Jolee's boutique dimensional stickers
Stampin' Up pennant punch
Martha Stewart double arches punch

Gift cards

Good morning friends!

This past weekend I had a few parties to celebrate. The first was my granddaughter Angie's 11th Birthday. I made her this cute birthday card with the Create a Critter 2 cartridge.

The second set of cards are for a friend celebrating a birthday and the other one for a friend moving
out of town. They're actually gift card holders.  I used Stampin Up's the 2-tags die, the Scallop Envelope die, small heart punch and the Big Shot labels collection.

Have a fun day crafting!

Bird Song

Welcome back!

After a week of struggling with uploading pictures to my blog and numerous messages sent to Google without any response; I finally found a way around the problem.

I was inspired to create this layout from the Graphic 45 blog site where they posted this tutorial: http://www.g45papers.com/pdf/Graphic45-BirdSong2pglayout.pdf

I added three tags to place pictures on the back of each of them.

The China doll was paper pieced and on the photo mat I used Martha Stewart's double arches punch.

Thank you for continuing to visit my blog.  I hope Google will eventually fix the problem.

RECIPE BOOK

Good morning friends!

I made this recipe book some time ago, but forgot to post it.  Since I am having problems with my browser and unable to show you my layout today, this post will have to do.

Unfortunately I don't remember all the supplies I used, only that the cartridge was From My Kitchen.

Have a happy and blessed weekend.

MY HERO

Good morning and thank you for your visit today.

Just before Christmas, my granddaughter Angie
performed in a holiday musical titled
"Everyone Needs a Hero."  It was very
entertaining and I promised her I would make
a layout for her.

I saved the school program and incorporated into the layout.  The students in the choir filmed a short clip where they each told who their hero was.  Angie's hero was her best friend Abby, who has been her BF since kindergarten.

I loved watching my granddaughter sing and dance.
I can tell you my heart was filled with pride.

Supplies used:

Plantin Schoolbook cartridge
Martha Stewart border punch
Recollections rhinestones
Tim Holtz elegant flourishes die
Jolee's boutique flowers
Paper Pizazz black/gold music paper
We R Memory Keepers Lucky 8 punch
