Thoughts of Encouragement

The biggest return on your investment in taking care of yourself is priceless.  It's your spirit.  Every time you don't take care of yourself, you oppress your spirit.  Every time you treat yourself right, your spirit soars higher.

Your body is your vehicle for getting where you need to go in life.

CTMH Recipe Box

No. 1
Last night was Teri Baxter's recipe box class and it turned out to be a super creative time.  Teri is a Close to My Heart consultant and I love attending her classes.  Their were five of us who took the class and every one's recipe box turned out beautiful as you can see.

Although each one is totally different, we all started with the basic My Creations Recipe Box (product #Z1322, $6.95) from CTMH.

I enjoyed the class so much that I will definitely be ordering a couple of more boxes.

Thoughts of Encouragement

True prosperity begins with feeling good about yourself.  It is the freedom to do what you want to do, when you want to do it.  It is never an amount of money; it is a state of mind.  Prosperity or lack of it is an outer expression of the ideas in you.

Box Teapots

I saw these cute teapots posted on my upline's quarterly meeting at the Spaghetti Factory in Duarte, California .  I e-mailed our group the "Udderlyawesome" ladies for help on how to make them and within a few hours I had the instructions.

The teapot is made with the Matchbox die-cut, the Top Note die-cut by Sizzix and both the large oval punch and large scallop oval punch sold by Stampin' Up.

You can put jewelry, candy or even a gift card inside the teapot.  Hope you enjoyed this project.

Thoughts of Encouragement

Rejoice in the abundance of being able to awaken each morning and experience a new day.  Be glad to be alive, healthy, to have friends, to be creative, to live joyous.  Enjoy life!

TEA LIGHT CAKES

Tea light cakes

I felt like baking yesterday, well that thought lasted for about 5 seconds, so then I decided to try my hand at making these tiny and very cute tea light cakes.  I found this idea on www.Splitcoaststampers.com.  If you have never visited them, I recommend you check out how awesome this website is.  They actually used an electric tea light in their tutorial, but I used three of my daughter's left over Party Lite tea lights, so I won't be lighting them up.  But still they make a cute decoration.

I mostly used Stampin'Up supplies, except for the designer paper.  Let me know if you want to come over and  bake a cake.

Thoughts of Encouragement

"You cannot fool God, so don't make a fool of yourself.  If you follow your selfish desires you will harvest destruction, but if you follow the Spirit, you will harvest eternal life.  Don't get tired of helping others and you will be rewarded when the time is right, if you don't give up."  Galatians 6:7-9

J-M Scrapbooking Expo

One page layout

On Saturday at the J-M Scrapbooking Expo, I made this one-page layout.  I liked the delicate flow of this page.  I learned how to make the flower out of the ribbon.  It was so easy and the results are so pretty.  I ended up buying a couple of yards of the ribbon to experiment at home.

The Expo was at the South Point Hotel and there were several vendors offering all kinds of scrapbooking supplies.  I bought two items that have already found a home on my craft table.  One is an amazing tool that looks like a pen and when you push the top of it, four small wires extend out that will grab even the tiniest eyelet or rhinestone, love it, love it.

The second item is a set of glitter gel pens that allow you to draw anything you can cut with your Cricut machine.  They are made by Cri-Kits, visit them on www.cri-kits.com to view a video on how they work. The possibilities are endless and I'm excited about using these pens in my craft projects.

I would be lying if I said that these were the only things I bought.  As always, I bought more than I should have, but I truly believe I need everything I bought.  And I'm sticking to my story.

Thoughts of Encouragement

Don't limit God with small thinking.  Have a big vision for your life.  Dream bigger dreams.  Live with faith and expectancy.  You will become what you believe.

"What is faith?  It is the confident assurance that what we hope for is going to happen.  It is evidence of things we cannot yet see."  -- Hebrews 11:1

HAUNTED HALLOWEEN CARD HOUSES

Fang-tastic
These two Halloween stamp sets are my favorites from the new 2010-2011 Stampin' Up catalog.  They are the Wicked Cool ($14.95) and Fang-tastic ($17.95).

Many demonstrators have made their versions of a haunted house, which are really detailed and beautiful, but I find them hard to make.

I decided to try making the easier version of a haunted house by using a regular card template to decorate as a haunted house.

Hope you like these two.  Much easier and quicker to make.  Aren't the witch and vampire adorable?  All the images on these two sets are "fang-tastic."

Thoughts of Encouragement

Some people are so discouraged with themselves that they think its too late to change their lives.  They say, "My life is in too big of a mess; you can't unscramble eggs," and that may be true.  But know that God can take scrambled eggs and make an amazing omelet.

CARD SWAP

These are more of the great card swaps that I received at the Stampin' Up Regional in St. George, Utah, last weekend at the Dixie Center.

All the cards were made with products from Stampin' Up.

If you don't already know, I am a Stampin' Up demonstrator and I will be celebrating my 10th Anniversary tomorrow, September 25, 2010.

Let me know which card was your favorite.  As for me, I loved all of them.

Go to www.stampinup.com to view the 2010-2011 catalog, and then contact me if you would like to order anything.

Thoughts of Encouragement

God has a great plan for your life.  Get your hopes up because if you don't have hope, you won't have faith and if you don't have faith you won't have God's power revealed in your life.

Keep hope alive in your heart.  Never give up on your dreams.  Don't let allow discouragement or setbacks keep you from believing in God's great plan for you.

HALLOWEEN TREATS

Halloween Treats

Front side of can

Top of can
This a paint can that you can purchase at Home Depot and decorate for so many occasions; birthdays, baby showers, weddings, practically any holiday and just fill it up with all kinds of goodies.  I plan to make a couple of more for Christmas.  Can you imagine making one for a special friend.  I am thinking this would be ideal for a man's gift filled with tools and maybe a gift card (that's if I was lucky enough  to have a man in my life, LOL).

For my Halloween can, I used lots of colorful ribbons, designer paper from Martha Stewart holiday stack, stickles, Stampin' Up's "Wicked Cool" stamp set, black ink pad, and the XL decorative label punch.

Hope you enjoyed this project.  Please leave me a comment and I will be picking someone to win one of my Halloween creations.

Thoughts of Encouragement

God wants to put a new song in your heart; He wants to fill you with hope; He wants you to know that He loves you more than you can imagine; and He can turn your dreams into something beautiful.

No matter what you go through in life, no matter how many disappointments you suffer, you will always be the apple of God's eye.  He will never give up on you, so don't give up on yourself.

HALLOWEEN CALENDAR

Count down to Halloween

I saw this cute desk Halloween calendar at Scrappin' Time and knew I had to make one.  Theirs was made out of wood blocks, but I cut out card stock boxes from the Cricut cartridge "Tags, Bags, Boxes & More."  You can use it as a countdown to Halloween or as a calender for October.

As you can see there's only 38 days before the ghouls come knocking on your door.
I  love to make Halloween projects and cards!

Thoughts of Encouragement

Make a choice to keep your mind focused on the better things.  Choose to trust God and do not get down and discouraged.

Everyday engage your mind in thoughts of God's Joy, Peace, Victory, Abundance and Blessings; and you will move toward those things, drawing them to yourself.

This weekend was incredible.  We made new friends, ate, shopped, ate, attended the Stampin' Up Regional, ate and shopped some more.

These are some of my favorite cards.  These two are made with Stampin' Up punches.  I definitely will have to case them.

Thoughts of Encouragement

If we have no relationship with God and are spiritually weak, nothing seems to work in our lives.

Your body is the temple of your spirit and soul; it is the house they dwell in while on this earth.  God's word says that your body is the temple of God.  He dwells in those who believe in Him.

Crackle Barrel Restuarant

Witch Chair Cover
What an exciting  trip to St. George.  The Stampin' Up Regional workshop was great, but the best part of this trip was the opportunity to bond with friends.  Our group stopped at the Crackle Barrel Restaurant and enjoyed a delicious breakfast.  As we entered the restaurant we saw these cute Halloween chair covers.  After breakfast we roamed around in their gift shop and we found that they were selling the chair covers.  Of course I had to buy one.

The sign at the bottom of the witch's feet says "Ghoul Friend."  One more Halloween decoration to add to my collection.  Just 41 days more for Halloween.

I will share some of my favorite trades during the week.

Thoughts of Encouragement

God sees your potential.  He sees the person you are capable of becoming.  To God you are a diamond in the rough.  You may need a lot of polishing; you may have a lot of rough edges.  That's okay; we all do.  But God sees what's in you, and He's never going to give up on you.

Hot Coco Anyone?

Two cups of Coco
Two thirsty chicks
Two girls "Gone Wild"
Angie and Natie love to drink hot coco at night before they go to bed and then they go "wild."

Tomorrow morning a group of us are going to St. George, Utah, to attend the Stampin' Up Regional workshop.  It's only about an hour and a half drive and we're leaving early, so I guess I better get to bed.  I will probably not post until I get back on Sunday.  Have a safe and wonderful weekend.

Thoughts of Encouragement

Whatever you hold in your mind will tend to occur in your life.  If you continue to believe as you have always believed, you will continue to act as you have always acted; you will continue to get what you have always gotten.  If you want different results in your life or your work, all you have to do is change your mind.

Teach your mind to work for YOU.  A positive YOU is a powerful YOU.  Commit today to stay positive.

Trick or Treat

Halloween 2009 (Natie & Angie)

Halloween 2008 (Alee & Natie)
When I saw these cute die cut stickers by Reminisce at Scrappin' Time last week I knew I had to buy them.  There are 30 pieces in this great kit for under $4--what a bargain.  I also used the Martha Stewart spider web punch edger and you may not see it, but I used Stickles on the web to give it glitz. I cut the Trick or Treat from the October 31 Cricut cartridge.

The pictures are actually from 2008 and 2009 of my three granddaughters, Angie, Alee and Natie.

Hope you liked it.  I thoroughly enjoyed making this layout.
