Spooky 3 D House with Ghoust & CobWebs

Spooky House
This picture does not do it justice, but this Spooky House is fabulous.  I got to see it a few days ago at the Crafting Place.  Jennifer is offering a class to make this project on Friday, October 15, 2010, at 12 noon, at the Crafting Place, 3560 E. Russell Road (by Pecos), phone number is (702) 845-2536 or.
RSVP to this Meetup:
http://www.meetup.com/Cricut-Classes/calendar/14794472/

The class will be taught by Mary, the deadline to sign up is October 13th and the cost is $35.  This house will look great with all your holiday decorations! Everything you need will be supplied for you in this class. And you get to go home and show your family this awesome house you did!

Supplies: You can bring your own basic supplies (so you won't have to share) scissors, black ink for chalking, and your favorite adhesive (glue sticks will be supplied).

Thoughts of Encouragement

God wants you to feel good about yourself.  He knows you are not perfect and you're going to make mistakes, but God is not focusing on your weaknesses or what you've done wrong.  God is looking at what you're doing right.

Halloween is Coming

I saw these cute Halloween boxes in the October issue of Scrapbooks Etc.  You can go to their website and download the instructions.  My favorite was the mummy.  They are made with one 12 x 12 sheet of cardstock.  You can fill them with popcorn or any other kind of goodies. My granddaughter Angie (she's 8 yrs) made her version of Dracula. This is a great project for the kids to make and they look really cute.  Hope you like them and maybe get inspired to make a couple yourself.  Halloween is only 46 days away.

Thoughts of Encouragement

Take a few minutes every day to dream big dreams, close your eyes, and envision your dreams coming true.  Establish that
picture in your heart and mind, then God can begin to bring it to pass in your life.

Fright Night

Happy Hauntings
Sorry I hadn't posted the past few days.  I've been busy finishing off the flower pens for our annual craft at St. John Neumann.  We had our monthly meeting of the Marthas and Marys last night and it was a night of crafting.  I took my Sizzix Big Shot machine to show the ladies how to cut the flowers and what a surprise when two of the members decided they wanted to purchase it.  I was so grateful that with the sale of these two machines I met my quota for this quarter and I can continue to be a "Stampin' Up" demonstrator.  This September marks my 10th anniversary with Stampin' Up.

Well I hope you like the Fright Night layout.  It was designed by my friend Penny Silva for our Cricut Divas group.  Eight of us met today at the Crafting Place and put together our own versions of Penny's layout.  We cut most of the images from the Happy Hauntings cartridge by Provo Craft.  The first picture was the one I made and the second one was done by Lisa Edwardt.  If you're interested, Penny will be giving a class on this layout at the Crafting Place next month.

Thoughts of Encouragement

If you only had one hour to live today, who would you call, what would you say, and what are you waiting for?

Focus on the good things of God and don't lose sight of what He has given you.  Slow down and be thankful for the simple things.

Have the right perspective and don't take for granted that you were able to get out of bed today all by yourself without any help.

FUN, FUN. FUN!

It was a fun day at the Crafting Place located at 3560 East Russell Road.  Jennifer was celebrating the first birthday of the Crafting Place where scrapbookers go to crop, shop, take classes and enjoy themselves.  Yesterday's celebration was filled with surprises.  The event was sold out-- you couldn't even find a parking spot.  Jennifer gave out lots of freebies, including the Toy Story Cricut cartridge, which yours truly WON!  Attendees were able to do some make and takes, including this great layout.

We were treated to pizza for lunch and Jennifer herself baked us an awesome dinner which included spaghetti, baked chicken marinaded in soda (never would have guessed), salad and garlic bread.  Everyone was given a special birthday present as part of the celebration.  So much went on, the room was filled with creativity and fun.

Toy Story
This is the Toy Story cartridge from Provo Craft that is one of their newest releases.  I feel very fortunate to have won this great cartridge and I thank Jennifer for her generosity.

Thoughts of Encouragement

As he thinks in his heart, so is he.  Proverbs 23:7
The key is to believe, to let the seeds God is placing in your life to take root so they can grow.

You must conceive it in your heart and mind before you can receive it.

Spooky Halloween

Yesterday was very busy for me with our Crop Night.  Although not very many ladies showed up it still was fun with the six ladies that did come.  I got into the Halloween spirit of things and started my Halloween decorating.  This was a page layout that we did last year and I still haven't put the pictures on it.  I want to make a couple of more Halloween theme projects before October 31 which I will post as I finish them.

Well I'm off to the Crafting Place for Jennifer Pereda's 1st anniversary crop.  It's sure to be a lot of fun and I will share with you tomorrow all the happenings.

A haunting I will go ....

Thoughts of Encouragement

Our emotions are important because they help us recognize how we truly feel and what we value.  Good emotional health is vital for a good life.  But a good life also means being able to manage our emotions and not be managed by them.

A good attitude produces good results, a fair attitude fair results, a poor attitude poor results.  We each shape our own life, and the shape of it is determined largely by our attitudes.

Flowers, flowers everywhere

This is a project I was working on today.  I have to cut 100 foam flowers using the Sizzix XL Flower Folds die cut from Stampin' Up.  They are fairly easy to cut on the Big Shot.

These flowers are for the annual St. John Neumann Catholic Church Craft Fair in November.  Sorry I forgot the exact date, but will post it in a few days.  Everything at the Craft Fair is handmade.  Our parishioners donate many of the items that are sold, but the Marthas and Marys (womens club) also make many of the items.  We will be making the flower pens along with other craft projects at our monthly meeting next week.  This is what it will end up looking like.

Thoughts of Encouragement

"Jesus came so that we may have life and have it to the fullest."  John 10:10

Do whatever you need to do to make sure you fully enjoy the life God has provided for you.

Regardless of how people are treating you, keep doing the right thing; don't get offended or upset; don't try to pay back evil for evil; respond with forgiveness and love.

Remember we will be having a Crop Night this Friday.  Bring your photos, creativity, and plan on having a good time.  This is the layout I will be working on.  I still need to add a title and some journaling.

You will have access to my Cricut machine, Sizzix Big Shot, dozens of die cuts, Your Story laminating machine, lots of Stampin' Up and Martha Stewart punches, Zutter binder, and unlimited stamps sets.  Yes, I admit, I am a "scrapbook junkie. "

Please RSVP to www.erlindastamps@gmail.com if you're planning to come.

Thoughts of Encouragement

My day begins with gratitude and joy.  I look forward with enthusiasm to the adventures of the day knowing that my life is in God's hands.

Get up every day and declare that you've got the favor of God.  Stay in an attitude of faith.  Isn't this a great day to start expecting the favor of God to touch your life.

Halloween Treat Boxes

Found these cute hand sanitizers at Bath and Body Works for a $1 each.  They are ideal for Halloween with labels that say Spider's Web, Candy Corn, Zombie Squad, Bat Bite and Vampire Blood.  The box that holds them was created by Erica Cerwin.  I am planning to give a class on how to make the boxes.  If you're interested, contact me at erlindastamps@gmail.com before Sept. 30th.

Thoughts of Encouragement

Don't be a doubter, be a believer.  Trust in God to lead you in the right direction.  Break through the barriers of your past.  It's time to believe for God's blessings which are bigger and better.

God's beauty and love chase after me every day of my life.  I just can't out run the good things of God.

Soooooooooooooo Talented!

Hum, hum!
Yesterday, the family was invited over to my nephew Hector's house to celebrate his two sons' birthdays. Little Hector turned 7 and Zekey turned 5.  Both boys are adorable and so full of energy.  My daughter Terry baked them a "Cupcake Cake". Besides being beautiful on the inside and outside, my baby girl is also talented.  I think she takes after her mother--LOL,

Thoughts of Encouragement

Think positive thoughts of hope, faith, and victory.

"For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."  Jer. 29:11

Believe for bigger and better things.  If you don't think your dreams will ever come to pass, they never will.  The barrier is in your mind.

Hip Hip Hooray!

I received an email from my friend Teri Baxter notifying me that I was one of her Magical Open House door prize winners.  I wanted to share her email:

Thoughts of Encouragement

Your imagination is like a canvas, you can paint on it any kind of picture you choose through your thoughts, attitudes, and what you decide to focus on.

Take out your paintbrush of faith, the paintbrush of hope, the paintbrush of expectancy and begin painting a bright future on the canvas of your heart.
