Good morning and welcome!
As you can see, I didn't quite finish my page layout, but I was so excited to show you my new toy, I had to post it. I haven't glued anything down and I still need a title for this layout.
This Labor Day weekend was a shopper's delight. I bought a new toy, or I should say a few new toys, in my defense everything was either 50% off or with a 50% coupon. This EK punch caught my eye at Michael's. I think its very new because I always check the punches and I had never seen it.
Here's a short tutorial on how to use this punch. You can make some very pretty flowers. Using a 12 x 12 piece of either cardstock or designer paper punch out two long petal strips.
This dimensional flower punch is one of two new EK punches that Michael's carries. On the EK site they show four different flower punches. I definitely will be going back to purchase the other ones.
Place one petal strip on top of the other and off set by half a petal. Be sure to use a strong adhesive by connecting the base of the petal strips. Then allow to dry.
Using a pencil or quilling tool twirl the petal strips into a spiral. Glue the spiraled flower in place at the base.
Fold down the petals and shape your flower into a beautiful embellishment.
Check out the video tutorial by EK and instructions to the above mirror project. @ http://www.eksuccessbrands.com/ektools/Products/Carnation_Dimensional_Flower_Punch_54-51000.htm
I found this punch to be easy to use and I love my new flowers. They fit perfectly into my layout. Hope you enjoyed this and let me know what you think of my new toy.
Thanks for stopping by and come back again.
