Hope you're having a great week!
I've made exploding boxes in the past but this one is different in that it only has one layer so it is easier to make. Using Graphic 45's A Lady's Diary I decorated this box.
You take a 12" x 12" card stock and score it at 4" from all four sides and then cut off the 4 corners. The decorative paper (DSP) is cut at 3 3/4" squares and glued to the inside and outside flaps. I used a Martha Stewart corner punch to create the edges. Inside the exploding box is another box which can hold a small gift.
This is the inside view without the small gift box.
Here's the top lid which I decorated by fuzzy cutting a lady's image from this beautiful DSP and adding flowers. To make the top lid you cut another 8" x 8" card stock and score 2" from each side. Score four more diagonal folds in the corner squares. Fold each corner up and adhere to the side to form the lid.
This is the small gift box which I cut from the Tags, Bags, Boxes and More cartridge with the "fit to page" using another piece of 12" x 12" card stock
The back view of the exploding box using another fuzzy cut image from the DSP.
Thanks for stopping by to view my post today.
