GIFT BOX

Good Wednesday morning, we're over the hump and its going to be a long 4th of July weekend.  Where did June go?  It's half the year already, can't believe how quickly life is passing by.

I needed a small gift box and this is what I came up with.
For the top of the box I cut Chocolate Chip card stock at 10" x 5 1/4", then scored it at 7/8" on all sides.  Cut on the long sides to the score line, then used the Doily scallop punch by Stampin' Up.  Fold on the score lines and adhere corners with sticky tape.
For the bottom of the box, cut kraft card stock at 9 1/2" x 4 3/4" and score at 3/4" on all sides.

On long sides cut at score marks, fold on the score lines and adhere corners with sticky tape.

To make the flower I used the Fun Flowers die exclusive to Stampin' Up and vanilla shimmer card stock.

Then I embossed all the pieces of the flower with the impressions folder Vintage Wallpaper, also exclusive to Stampin' Up.
Shaded all the pieces with a sponge and Tim Holtz distess vintage ink.  With a pencil I curled the edges of the flower pieces.  Added mounting tape to form the flower.

Wrapped a 26" piece of cream color ribbon to the top of the box and mounted the flower with a glue dot.  To the center of the flower I added a pink ribbon rose I bought from Michael's dollar bin.

I tried five times to take a picture of the label, but finally gave up.  Believe me it looks pretty in person.  I stamped the shimmer paper with the Four Frames stamp set and then used the decorative label punch.  Added another pink ribbon rose and mounted it on the box.
I absolutely love the finished box and I hope to make a few more to keep handy for last minute gifts.  Hope you can use this tutorial and woud love to see what you make.  Contact me if you have any questions.

Thanks for visiting, Erlinda

She's A Dancer

My 9-yr old granddaughter Angie decided to enter the talent show at her school last month.  She was selected and made the top ten.  She is a talented dancer.  Her determination was admirable and we were very proud of her.  She practiced every day and she did her own choreography.
I used pink glitter paper for the background.  The title is a sticker embellishment by Recollections.  The stars were punched on yellow card stock.
The musical notes were cut from the Hannah Montana cartridge and the dancer was cut from the Rock Princess cart.

The black swirl band is a Martha Stewart punch.  The black/pink tulle flower was made by my friend Lisa using the Fun Flowers die by Stampin' Up.

Using four 6x6 page protectors I was able to place eight pictures on this one page layout.  I matted the pictures on black CS and embellished some of the 6x6 pages. The 6x6 page protectors are held together with two silver star brads.

We were all very proud of Angie.  She is also a member of the school choir and performed at the talent show by singing and dancing.  I think we have a "super star" in the family.

Thanks for visiting.

Lazy Days of Summer

Now that summer is here my granddaughters love to go swimming and I love taking pictures of them having fun.  This two-page layout was a joy to make. The beach ball was cut @ 3 inches from the Life Is a Beach cart by Provo Craft.
The life guard chair was also cut from Life Is a Beach cart @ 4 3/4 inches on white and light blue card stock.
Using a new cart "Paper Lace" I cut the background swirls design @ fit to page on navy blue CS.  This cart has so many beautiful designs its going to be hard to put it down.

The cute sandals were cut from the Life Is a Beach cart at 3 inches.  Then I added blue rhinestones.

Can you tell my girls had so much fun playing in the pool. They went wild and so I wanted to give my layout a kind of wild look.
It has been scorching hot here in Vegas, so just looking at the pictures cools me off.

Hope you're enjoying the summer.  Take lots of pictures and start cropping them.

Please come back and visit again.

PANDA MANIA !!

Mercedes and Channell
This has been a week of excitement, of forming friendships and of serving others.  Throughout the week I helped in the kitchen preparing the snacks for 100 kids with the help of five teenagers who were attending Vacation Bible School.
Miranda and Jeremiah
Gloria was in charge and she did a tremendous job of organizing the snacks each day.  Our five teenagers worked hard to prepare the snacks, serve them and then clean-up each day.  We wanted to show our appreciation, so I made picture frames with the Top Note die by Stampin' Up and placed their photos.  Gloria and I also gave them Starbucks gift cards
Here's the crew, but unfortunately one of them is missing.  Her name is Becky and she was unavailable for the photo shoot.
Angie, Alee and Natalia
And finally here are my three granddaughters who enjoyed Panda Mania alot.  They were sad to see it come to an end.  They performed for all the parents with songs and hand gestures praising GOD!  I am grateful that my girls were able to experience this great program at St. John Neumann Catholic Church.

May your weekend be blessed.

Thoughts of Encouragement

Your children need to hear you say words such as, "I love you.  I believe in you.  I think you're great.  There's nobody else like you.  You are one of a kind."  They need to hear your approval.  They need to feel your love.  They need your blessing.

Build a Blossom Memo Pad

My granddaughters are attending Vacation Bible School and each one has a team leader.  I wanted to make each team leader a small gift to let them know they were appreciated.  I hope they like this memo pad.

Here are my girls enjoying their second day of "Panda Mania"
Build a Blossom punch (#121808)
I used the Build a Blossom punch and stamp set by Stampin' Up to make the flower.  You can refer to my post dated March 14, 2011, for full instructions on how to make it.
To form the base of the card cut a piece of card stock (CS) to 10" x 4 1/8" and then score it at 4-5/8", 4-15/16" and 5-1/8" along the 10" side.  Fold on the middle score mark and cut the flap up to the next score line 1-1/4" from each side.

Fold all score lines, then push middle sections outward and two outer sections inward to form the loop for a pencil.  Glue outer sections to secure.

Glue a note pad inside with sticky tape and slide a small pencil into the loop on top.

Used the verse, "Friends are flowers that never fade" from the stamp set Friends Never Fade by Stampin' Up.  Stamped it on white CS in black ink and then punched it out with the scalloped oval punch.

Finally, glued the blossom flower with a glue dot to the front of the card.  I plan to make six different memo pad cards by Friday, so I better hurry.

One last picture of Angie with her two team leaders.  Angie can't wait until she's old enough to be a team leader herself.

Hope you can use this quick gift idea.  Enjoy your day and come back again and visit.

TIMELESS BLISS

I love the vintage look of this designer paper by Webster's Pages.  I've bought several sheets but this is one of my favorite designs.  There is so much opportunity to embellish this paper.

I added lots of embellishments by K and Company and some pink tulle.
The black card stock mats were corner punched with Stampin' Up's corner trim punch.  Used a string of pearls to decorate the chandelier.
Added colorful feathers by Creatology to the two peacocks.  The larger peacock is a chipboard embellishment.
Of course I had to add some pretty butterflies.  And here you can see the pearls on the chandlier.  The corner trims are by K and Company.  I recommend you check the beautiful papers @ http://www.websterspages.com/.

Summer is here and babysitting the granddaughters gives me less time to craft.  So I may be posting less for the next couple of months, but please don't stop coming by.  I appreciate you visiting and your comments.

Thanks, Erlinda

Thoughts of Encouragement

Start believing what God says about you.  God is not limited by your family tree.  He is not limited by your education, social standing, economic status or your race.  No, the only thing that limits God is our lack of faith.

Graduation Mini Album

My daughter Terry and her friend Crystal made this very cute mini album for Crystal's brother Hugo's graduation.  They did all the decorating using chipboard they found at Michael's dollar bin.  I helped cut out Hugo's name from the Storybook cartridge by Provo Craft.
I think they did a great job considering it was their first mini album.
Stickers and decorative graduation designer paper were used throughout this project.
Plenty of space to put pictures of the graduate.

This will make a great personalized gift.

For the back cover I cut "2011" from the Plantin SchoolBook cart.

Hope you enjoyed this project by my guest crafters
Terry and Crystal.

ELEGANT EDGES

Good Wednesday morning everyone.

A few months ago I visited the Bellagio Hotel here in Vegas with my granddaughters.  I caught them on film as they played in front of this
pretty waterfall.

The background designer paper is called Jubilee Teal Woman by K and Company.  Some of the elements are embossed and it has some beautiful soft colors.  The pink eyelet shape was cut from the Elegant Edges cartridge by Provo Craft.

The pink flowers are by BoBunny and a small pearl by Martha Stewart was added to the centers.

This beautiful chipboard embellishment along with the butterflies and the floral corner are by K and Company also.

The Doily Lace punch by Martha Stewart was used to decorate around the pictures.  Butterflies, butterflies everywhere.
Also added pearls to the centers of the eyelet cardstock.

Well I hope you enjoy your day and please come back and visit soon.
