Christmas Card Holder

It's beginning to look like Christmas at my house.  We got the tree up and I have my red poinsettias adorning my living room.  Every year when I start getting Christmas cards I place them on the tree or on a table.  This year they're going inside the pocket of this page layout that I posted on November 4, 2011.  I altered it a bit to suit my purpose.  Added another tree and some red satin ribbon to hang it.  I painted a 12 x 12 white canvas with red acrylic paint and then glued the page layout onto it using red sticky tape.

Right above the stockings I created a pocket to store my Christmas cards.  You can also put a picture on the canvas and store pictures instead of cards or you can even put your letters to Santa.

Hope you liked this idea and would appreciate your comments.

Thoughts of Encouragement

When you magnify the Lord, you aren't changing him.  You are making Him bigger in your life than your problems and circumstances.  Make a decision today not to magnify your problems, but magnify our God.

ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS

Good morning and welcome!

Hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving.  Now its time to get ready for Christmas.  I found this Santa designer sheet by My Minds Eye and immediately knew I had to have it.

As you can probably guess, "All I Want For Christmas" is scrap booking stuff.  This phrase was cut with the Winter Frolic cartridge.

You can flip the presents open and add four Christmas pictures inside.

The Christmas wreath was cut from the Trim the Tree cart and the fireplace is cut from the Joys of the Season cart.  Recollections stickers were used for the stockings.  Also added red rhinestones and red glitter to the wreath.

The tree is a sticker by Recollections and the gifts were hand-cut from a designer sheet of the Merry Christmas stack by DCWV.  Santa was altered by adding white flocking to his suit and red glitter on his candy cane and hat.

Thanks for stopping by and I invite you to come again.

SWEET MEMORIES

Hope everyone had a blessed and safe Thanksgiving.  Probably like everyone else,  I over ate, but today starts the holiday diet (more eating).  Sweet Memories were made this Thanksgiving at my home.  Surrounded by my family it was another year filled with good things.

After our family dinner we went to some of the Black Friday sales.  I bought this pretty paper stack called "The Ballet" by Recollections at a steal for $7 and a couple of Martha Stewart punches that were also on sale.

The other supplies that I used were:

Martha Stewart fancy punch
Winter Frolic cartridge
Jolee's boutique flowers
Purple glitter paper
Tim Holtz's Elegant Flourishes die

Have a great weekend and thanks for visiting.

A Very Merry Chrstmas

Good morning and welcome!

Another week has passed and Christmas is fast approaching.  Lately I've bought several great Christmas stacks, so I need to use them.  For this page layout I used the Merry Christmas stack by DCWV.

The title was cut from the Winter Frolic cartridge and both the single snowflakes and edges are Martha Stewart punches.  Added rhinestone brads to the large snowflakes.

This beautiful reindeer is a wooden ornament that I painted white and then added Dazzling Diamonds glitter by Stampin' Up. The wooden reindeer is by ArtMinds which I found at Michael's for a $1 (what a bargain).

Hope you have a blessed weekend and come back for more Christmas projects.

An ABC Primer Box

Good morning and welcome!

I've been working on this project for several weeks and finally was able to finish it.  With the help of my friend Cecy who helped me cut the pieces to form the box, I decorated it with designer paper An ABC Primer by Graphic 45.  The box measures 8" x 8".

Inside the box is housed my mini album that I posted on October 13, 2011.  This DSP lends its self so easily to decorating any project. I love all the vintage images.

Supplies used:

Graphically Speaking cartridge
An ABC Primer Collection
chipboard
sticky tape
Tm Holtz distress tea dye ink

I enjoyed making both the box and mini album and consider this an heirloom that I will save for many years for my children and grandchildren.

Thank you for following my blog.

SWEET TOOTH BOXES

Good Friday and welcome!

I recently participated in Cricut's 5th Anniversary Sweepstakes game and won $20 which I used to purchase the Sweet Tooth Boxes cartridge.  Last night I decided to play with my new cart and I cut the above scalloped tags.

This cart is a great addition to my library of Cricut cartridges.  It not only cuts several shapes of boxes, it also cuts houses, tags, bows, and words.

I love the bow.  It is really quick and easy to put together.

This is the cute cupcake box.

Have a safe and blessed weekend my friends and don't forget to come back.

GOBBLE

Do your know where your Turkey is???

Thanksgiving is only two weeks away and many of us are already making preparations for this special day.  My family will probably be coming to my house for Thanksgiving dinner, but I won't be cooking the turkey.  My daughter-in-law and son will be in charge of the turkey and I will be preparing the ham and another side dish.

I plan to take a nice family picture and place it on this layout.

The base of this layout is a sheet of designer paper from the Mrs. Claus's Kitchen stack by DCWV.  Everything else on my Gobble page was cut from the Create a Critter cartridge.

I'm in love with my turkey, isn't he so cute?  I don't think I will be eating this bird (lol).

Thanks for visiting and have a blessed day.

SWEET HOLIDAY WISHES

We're half ways into the week and Christmas is fast approaching.  My friend Cecy and I are organizing a "Sleep-Over" crop which we're excited about.  It is scheduled for Friday, December 2 and Saturday, December 3.  We are going to do several Make and Take projects and this gingerbread boy layout is one of them.  Isn't he cute?

The gingerbread boy is a foam shape by Christmas House.  The title is cut from the Winter Frolic cartridge and the candy is cut from Joys of the Season cartridge.  The snowflakes were made with Martha Stewart punches.

I was undecided as to where to place the embellishments so I moved them around a bit.  Which one do you like? The gingerbread boy is embellished with designer paper, punched snowflakes, punched heart buttons, wiggly eyes and cheeks colored with pink chalk.

We still have several spots available for our Sleep-over Crop.  If you're interested, please contact me via email:  erlindastamps@gmail.com.

Thanks for stopping by.
