Stampin' Up Regional

Good Tuesday morning my blog friends!

This past Saturday I was privileged to attend the Stampin' Up Regional in Henderson, Nevada.  Part of the excitement in attending a regional conference is swapping card fronts.  I set a goal of making 100 trades and in return received 100 swaps.  This card was my favorite swap, can you tell why?  The butterfly and the elegance of the card memorized me.

These are just a few of the Christmas themed cards.

A few more cards that had flowers on them.  Each one very beautiful.

There were lots of Halloween cards and 3-D projects.  Great ideas.

This is what is called a slider card.  The left side is the closed version and the right side is the opened version.  Pretty cool the way it opens up.
We were allowed to do two make and take samples including stamping a matching envelope.  This card has a very vintage look and I loved it.

This last make and take card with an envelope is very pretty.

Without a doubt this regional was fabulous.  I will try to post some of the ideas and techniques which were taught, during this week.  The regional was also a great opportunity to make new friends and renew old ones.  Thank you Lisa and Maria for sharing this experience with me.

WELCOME SPRING

Good morning and welcome to my blog!

This weekend I got a few new toys and the Welcome Spring cartridge arrived on Friday.  This cart has an adorable little worm which I was anxious to cut out and use.

Some of my favorite images on this cart are, of course the worm, butterfly, bird in a cage, the cute little bird house and the banner.  I feel this was a good investment, and I sticking to my story.  I just cannot pass up a good deal.

For this card I also used the following supplies:

Cindy Lou cart
Wild Card cart
Melon Mambo card stock (CS)
Garden Green CS
Black CS
Paisley Petals designer paper
Pink satin ribbon
Bo Bunny button

Hope you have a nice day and don't forget to leave a comment because on Sept. 3rd I will pick a winner for my blog candy.  I appreciate you stopping by today.

Thoughts of Encourgement

Do you need God's healing power in your body?  If you do, worship Him.  Do you need God's restoration power in your relationships?  Worship Him.  Do you need His delivering power from a personal crisis?  Worship Him.  As you worship Him, you will begin to see things begin to change.

Thoughts of Encouragement

The Bible says that God inhabits the praises of his people. When you worship the Lord, His presence will manifest itself wherever you are.  It doesn't matter if you are at home, in your car, or at work, God will inhabit your praises.  And where God's presence is, there is tremendous power!

BABY DEER

This card was designed by Stacey Halabuda and published in the August 2011 Cricut magazine.  I finally gave in and purchased the magazine and cased Stacey's beautiful creation.  Her card was done in blue hues, so I decided to change colors.

This magazine is packed with Cricut projects that are irresistible.

To make this card you need the following:

Cindy Lou cartridge
Cut one "Doily 2" and another "Doily 2 shadow" at 4 1/2"

Wild Card cartridge
Cut one "Doily" at 5 3/4"

Mount pieces with foam adhesive; tie a matching bow; add ribbon, lace and matching flowers.
This card was super fun, fast and easy. Visit Stacey @ http://www.happyhalabuda.blogspot.com/.

Thanks for visiting and have a great day creating!

ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY

Aviary stamp set (#120462)

On August 31th, I will be celebrating one year of blogging, thanks to a friend, Sherrill Graff.  I feel I have come a long way with managing my blog.  I have posted 528 entries and have had over 15,916 hits.  I think that deserves a "WooHoo!"

To celebrate, I am raffling a FREE Stampin' Up stamp set if you leave me a comment.  The stamp set is the above precious "Aviary."  I will post the name of the winner on September 3rd.  Be sure to leave me your email address so I can contact you.

This my home decor project for today.

Using the new Lace Ribbon border punch by Stampin' Up I punched out several strips from black cardstock scraps.  Then I ran them thru the sticker maker and glued the strips around my red candles.  I recommend that you do not light the candles, if you decide to decorate them with cardstock.

Thank you for supporting my blog with your visits.  It is because of everyone that visits that I am motivated to continue to create and post.

So don't forget to leave a comment, you may be the one to WIN!

KEY TO MY HEART

Eddie (3 yrs), Hector (2 yrs), Miguel (1 yr) and Letty (4 yrs)
Good morning and welcome to my blog!

Last year while visiting my sister, she showed me this photo of our children and I snatched it from her.  She didn't want to give it up.  This photo holds alot of sentimental value for both of us.  I promised her that I would make a copy and return the original---I lied!  I've held onto the photo for a long time but I plan to give her this layout and hope she likes it.
My photos continue to come out blurry or maybe its the photographer (me) lol.  The white doily is the new Stampin' Up stamp "Hello Doily" which I stamped with Versamark and heat set with white embossing powder.  Then I added tiny pink pearls by Recollections.  The title "Key to My Heart" was cut from the Sentimentals cartridge.

I made all the flowers with the Scallop Circle and Fancy Flowers punches with cardstock and brown packing paper.  The butterflies were cut with Martha Stewart punches and the keys are cut with Tim Holtz's Hardware Findings die.

More of my handmade flowers and the leaves are from the Tattered Leaves die also by Tim Holtz.  The beautiful pink pearls flourish is by Recollections.

The journaling tickets are by Tim Holtz (I've become addicted to his products).  The small piece of measuring tape is by Bobbin Ribbon.
I framed this layout with the intent to give it to my sister for her birthday, I hope I don't have second thoughts and keep it for myself.

Have a beautiful and very blessed day!

Thoughts of Encouragement

A lot of times, people think that when they have a need, if God wanted to, He could just automatically meet it.  But Jesus didn't say, Because of your need, it will happen"; He said, "Because of your faith."

Here's a list of what I used to decorate this mini album:

Life's Journey scrap kit by K and Company
Travel scrap kit by Me and My Big Ideas
Grosgrain striped chocolate chip ribbon by Stampin' Up (SU)
Top Note die by SU
Vintage photo distress ink by Tim Holtz

Hope your week is filled with creative ideas and thanks for visiting.

Scripture tells us that "faith comes by hearing the Word of God."  The more you have the Word of God in your life, the more your faith will grow, and the more you will see God working on your behalf.

SOCIAL BUTTERFLY

Good Friday morning everyone and welcome to my blog!

I can never get enough of butterflies and since I consider myself a social butterfly that was the inspiration for this layout.

My friend Gloria and I had a fun day at the Tivoli Village here in Vegas and she took this picture of me in front of the Brio. The Beautiful Butterflies die by Stampin' Up was used to cut the butterflies, but I can't remember where I got the designer paper (DSP).  Also added pearls to the butterflies.  "Social butterfly" was cut from the 3 Birds on Parade cartridge.
The flowers were made with the Fancy Flower punch by Stampin' Up.  Used black CS and musical notes DSP to make the flowers.  The vine was cut with the Flowers and Vine die by Sizzix.
Adhesive rhinestones by Recollections look really beautiful.  The musical notes DSP is from the Performance stack by DCWV.  The background paper is black cardstock (CS) and blue glitter CS.

Well I hope my layout has inspired you to use butterflies and I recommend you visit the Tivoli Village.  Have a great weekend and don't forget to come back soon.

Accordian Flip Album

Good Wednesday morning and welcome to my blog!

A few weeks ago I went to a garage sale at Scrappin' Time and one of the items I bought was a pack of eight 2004 Scrapbooks etc. magazines for $1.  What a bargain I thought.  In one of those magazines I found the instructions for this project.  This tutorial is bit lengthy, so grab a cup of coffee and get ready to be creative.

Cut two 4 1/2" squares of chipboard and two 6" squares of designer paper (DSP).  Adhere a chipboard to the back of the DSP, centering it.  Trim corner of DSP at a 45 degree angle about 1/16" away from each chipboard corner.  Fold over the flaps and adhere; repeat.

Place the two covers facedown and butt them together.  Hold two 32" lengths of ribbons together and fold them in half to find the center.  Line up the center of the ribbons where the two covers butt and adhere the ribbons to the backs of the covers.  I placed mine on the right side by accident, but then I made it work for me.

Cut two 4 1/4" squares of CS and adhere to each cover, covering the ribbons.  I used sticky tape.

Are you still with me?  We're half way thru the tutorial.

Cut a 4 7/8" x 4 1/4" piece of Kraft CS for the accordion spine.  Score a line 3/4" away from one of the short edges of the CS.  Score 10 more lines at 3/8" intervals and accordion-fold the spine piece to end up with six valley folds and five mountain folds.

Adhere with sticky tape the 3/4" edge of the spine to the inside of the back cover and the opposite 3/8" end of the spine to the inside of the front cover.

Cut five 4" squares of Kraft CS for the book pages.  Rub page edges with a brown ink pad to give them a worn appearance.

Adhere the last page to the inside back back cover.  Add sticky tape to one end of each of the 4" squares.

Add the remaining four pages into the four valley folds of the accordion strip.

Decorate the front cover however you want. I used a scallop circle punch flower, sizzlet leaves, the Bird w/Branches and Flower die by Sizzix and "love" was cut from the Home Decor cartridge.  Tie the ribbons into a bow to close the album. Oh, and don't forget to add your pictures.

So we're done with the tutorial.  Hope you try it out and if you have any questions, please contact me.

You Make My Heart Sing

Thanks for stopping by today!

My oldest granddaughter Brianna plays the violin and when I came across this designer paper by DCWV it was meant for a page layout.  The DSP is the Performance stack.

"You Make My Heart Sing" was cut from the Wild Card cartridge and I added Stickles.  The Elegant Flourishes is a Tim Holtz die which I love to use.

The flowers were made with the Fancy Flower and the Scallop Circle punches by Stampin' Up.  The Flourish #2 is a Sizzix die.

I don't have a picture yet of Brianna and her violin, but I have my camera ready.

Enjoy your day and please visit my blog again.
