Dreams Come True

Welcome back everyone, hope your Memorial Day weekend was memorable, but now back to reality--work!

I was able to scrapbook yesterday, after coming home from watching the Panda II movie.  I came home with inner peace and decided to put it into a scrap page.

Used designer paper from the Mariposa stack by DCWV.  I am so attracted to beautiful paper that has butterflies on it.

This beautiful image is from Graphic 45's Once Upon a Springtime collection frames.

These pretty flowers only cost me .49 cents from the clearance isle at Michael's.   Also used dimensional sticker butterflies by K and C Company.  Just can't seem to make a layout without adding butterflies.

"Dreams Come True" was cut at 3 inches from the Cricut cartridge Dreams Come True.   Added diamond Stickles to the pink rose.

After finishing this layout, I closed my eyes and imagined being in a garden filled with fairies and butterflies and it was magical.  I could feel my inner spirit.

Let me know what your inner spirit feels like when you scrapbook.

Thoughts of Encouragement

You cannot think negative thoughts and expect to live a positive life.  You can't think thoughts of failure and expect to succeed.  You life will follow your thoughts.  Just like a magnet, you will attract what you continually think about.

Butterfly Love

Finally Friday is here and the start of a long holiday weekend!  Yesterday I cut this scallop background with my newest cartridge Elegant Edges.  Then mounted one of the beautiful designer sheets from "the Street Lace" stack by DCWV.  Isn't it gorgeous!  I love, love butterflies and this DSP stack has several sheets with butterflies.
"Love" is cut from the Love Struck solutions cartridge at 1 3/4 inches and double mounted on pink and black card stock (CS).  I cut out two black CS mats and used my favorite corner trim punch on the edges.
To this beautiful butterfly I added some rhinestones.  The DSP has the look of netting and is so pretty.  This layout didn't require too many embellishments because the butterfly is so striking.

Hope you liked this layout. I always enjoy reading your comments so let me know what you think.  Have a safe and fun weekend!

"FABULOUS"

Last week while I was in San Diego I bought a new Cricut cartridge and finally had time to play with it.  I think this cartridge is "fabulous" so that's what I named my layout.
The Elegant Edges cartridge by Provo Craft has numerous elegant images that will make it easier to scrapbook.  At least that's how I see it.  It is going to allow me to cut my own background frames at a fraction of the cost of buying these specialty papers at a scrap store.
I cut this background (Bird1-s, page 36) with the "fit to page" function key at 11 inches.
Then using designer paper from K and C Company (which I've had forever) I cut the background again at 10 1/2 inches.
These two cut outs were mounted on another DSP from the same stack of paper and now its time to decorate.  "Fabulous" was cut from the Forever Young cartridge at 1 1/2 inches and then I added diamond Stickles.  The bird cage is a Tim Holtz die which was embellished with lots of pearls.

Used the Flowers and Vine die by Sizzix and added floral and lace embellishments by Recollections.  The scattered pearls are also by Recollections.  Now my page layout is done.
I was so impressed with this cartridge that I cut several more backgrounds.  This one is the Scallops on page 48.  I think this is so pretty and elegant.

This one is the Flower3 on page 65.

I was on a roll, but I decided to stop with this Eyelet3 on page 68.

I know I will be putting this cartridge to good use.  I recommend this cartridge to anyone who loves to scrapbook with specialty cuts.

Well that's my post for today.  I've got to get back to cutting more of those "fabulous" elegant edges.  Thanks for stopping by and come back soon to share more creativity.

Thoughts of Encouragement

Thank You, Father, for giving me the confidence to be me.  Help me to run my race and to not be concerned about what other people expect of me.  As long as long as You are pleased with me, I am happy!  Amen.

"TWILIGHT"

My granddaughter Angie loves the Twilight series of movies and she is infatuated with Edward.  I had promised to make a layout for her and finally got to make it.
The letters were cut from the Wall Decor and More cartridge.  I was surprised that it contains such beautiful letters.  Then after mounting the letters to designer paper (DSP) from The Mortal Love stack by DCWV, I added diamond Stickles.  The picture doesn't show it very well, but it looks very pretty in person.
The hearts were cut from the Doodlecharms cartridge and I added red rhinestones to them.
The red apple was also cut from Doodlecharms.  The black swirls are from the Wall Decor and More cartridge.

The red DSP was outlined with a Silver Leafing Pen by Krylon. I've had this pen for so long and had never used.  I punched the edges with the Corner Trim punch by Stampin' Up and then mounted this mat onto black cardstock.

I hope you liked this page layout and would love to read your comments.  Thanks for stopping by and please come back again.  Have a great day!

"Happy Kid" Mini Album

Yesterday I met with my friend Emily and we had fun talking and crafting.  One thing we talked about was how we need to use up what we have.  For example, all the paper scraps that we accumulate.  I took this as a challenge and only used scraps to embellish this mini album.

I bought the Create a Critter cartridge from Provo Craft several months ago and had not used it.  I decided to use it to cut several critters such as this cute dinosaur using only scraps of paper.

All the images on this cartridge are so cute.  Here I cut the happy flag.
The kit did come with a few embellishments like the "giggle" sticker, but the dragonfly is another critter I cut.
This cartridge has tons of cute images it was hard to choose, but as soon as I saw the turtle I knew it had to go on my mini album.
The same thing happened when I saw this cute little worm.  Isn't he adorable?
The mushroom, grass and "friends" couldn't be left behind.
"So Fun" that's what it felt like making this adorable mini album.
"Let's Play" and the balloons were super easy to cut and I added them to this page.
What kid doesn't love balloons!  This mini album will hopefully sell at our annual church craft fair.

And finally, the back cover.  I didn't want to do anything else here.  The album is held by two large rings and covered with red, green and yellow sheer ribbons.

I still have a few more kits that have been neglected for too long.  I'm trying to finish all of them to sell at our craft fair in November.

See you soon for some more crafting ideas.

Thoughts of Encouragement

Real power doesn't lie in controlling everything that happens to us.  The real power lies in our ability to rise above those negative circumstances and keeping a positive attitude.

My "Perfect" Scallop Mini Album

This is another mini album I've had for quite awhile and never finished.  The kit came with the beautiful designer paper and embellishments.  Of course, I was not satisfied with what the kit came with and I added a few more embellishments from my stash.  Added colorful sheer ribbons on the metal rings.
On these two page mats I used my new Recollections ribbon stitch punch.  I love the effect it gives the card stock.  I shaded the edges of all the pages of my mini album with brown ink.
There are a total of 12 pages you can place pictures or journaling on.  This mini scrapbook is also going into my donation bin for my church's craft boutique.
I used the Top Note die by Stampin' Up to create the picture mats.
The mats were embossed with the Manhattan Flower impressions folder before mounting them on the designer paper.
I am enjoying working on these mini albums and they don't take very long to create.
I'm going to set a goal of creating another four mini albums this weekend.  My friend Vicky Lopez @ http://www.kreation-korner.blogspot.com/ is hosting a crop and can you guess what I'll be doing at her crop.
This is the back cover of the mini album.  I know you will agree that the designer paper is very stunning.  I added a ton of rhinestones to the center of the two flowers.   In person it looks very glitzy and pretty.

I have so many other mini scrapbooks which I hope to finish.  I feel inspired in the fact that I want to donate my creations to the church's craft fair.  Please let me know what you think.  I enjoy reading your comments and I want to thank everyone who has left me a comment.

Hope you can come back Monday to share some creativity!

Thoughts of Encouragement

Don't get so caught up in the hopes of tomorrow that you forget to enjoy today!  Strive to be faithful day by day in the ordinary things.

Mini Scrapbook

This was a 6 x 6 chipboard mini scrapbook album I found among my many forgotten projects in my craft room.  I was happy to find it and complete it.  I made the flowers with the scallop circle punch by Stampin' Up.
I tried to use up embellishments and ribbons that I've accumulated and have been hoarding.  I confess I am a scrapbook junkie.  On this scrapbook I tried to use up some of my stash.
I didn't place any photos in this scrapbook because I plan to donate it to my church's Christmas craft fair.
I used the scallop trim punch by Stampin' Up on all the picture mats throughout the mini scrapbook.
On this page I created a pocket behind the picture mats to place additional pictures or memorabilia.
The entire scrapbook consists of two chipboard covers and four card stock pages.  The book is held together with two metal book rings which were decorated with sheer pink ribbons.

This is the back cover to which I added a pretty butterfly embellishment by Recollections.

If you have one of these chipboard books in your scrapbooking stash, I recommend you get it out and complete it.  You'll like what you make.  Thanks for dropping by and come back and share some creativity.

Thoughts of Encouragement

God has our steps planned and our days ordered.  Knowing that, we should decide today not to get frustrated and bent out of shape because we're not progressing as quickly as we'd like, or because our plans are sometimes frustrated.  His are not, we're right on schedule ... God's schedule!

Craft Fair Project

Last night a few ladies from the Martha's and Marys group met to work on crafts for our annual Christmas Boutique which is held in November.  We decided to make the 12 x 12 note pads.
Using designer paper from the Tradewinds and Lemon Flower which are new stacks by DCWV, we started to decorate the note pads.

Used the Sizzix bigz die Clock, Ornate and Hands which I recently bought and love the image.  I can see alot of possibilities for crafting with this die.  I added blue rhinestones and used the DSP on the front cover and on the clock.
This DSP is so beautiful and they give the note pads an elegant look.  The butterflies and key are part of the DSP.

The Caged Bird is a bigz die by Tim Holtz which cuts both the bird and cage.  Added some crystal rhinestones and a pretty sheer yellow ribbon.

Thanks for stopping by and please come back and visit.
